SUDER SEEKS REELECTION

Thursday, July 6th, 2006 -- 10:02 AM

Saying he feels he?s accomplished a lot during his four terms, an area state assemblyman is announcing his intent to win a 5th.

69th-District Assemblyman Scott Suder (R-Abbotsford) touts passage of the Rural JOBZ Act, Jessica?s Law and the Family Farm Renewal Act as major accomplishments during the past legislative session, but says he thinks he can do more if reelected ? specifically, Suder says he?ll focus on ?reeling in? state agencies.

"The top issues are the state budget, taxes and the overwhelming need of reform," Suder says. "We have to make sure state agencies don't go too far, and sometimes they do."

Suder says healthcare reform would rank among the top five issues that need to be worked on.

"I think we have to do whatever we can to do what we can to use existing state resources to help," Suder says, noting he supports expanding BadgerCare and SeniorCare.

Owen Mayor Tim Swiggum has announced plans to run for the 69th District Assembly seat as a Democrat.
