Governor Evers Steps in to Broker Deal Ahead of UW Health Nurses Strike

(Raymond Neupert, WRN) A planned nurses' strike at UW Health in Madison may be called off after a deal was brokered this weekend.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that Governor Tony Evers stepped in to help make a deal between UW Nurses United and the hospital administration. The unionization, if it takes place, would be the state's largest formation of a union since the passage of Act 10 under former governor Scott Walker which severely limited the ability of public workers to collectively bargain.
The nurses say they are not state employees since UW Health is no longer under direct control by UW Madison.
