Thursday, June 29th, 2006 -- 8:09 AM
The so-called ?Gay Marriage Ban? isn?t a good idea according to four former Wisconsin governors. In a statement, former Democratic Govs. Patrick Lucey, Martin Schreiber and Tony Earl, and former Republican Gov. Lee Sherman Dreyfus, said they oppose the amendment because it runs against the "values of freedom and fairness that make Wisconsin great".
The four encouraged Wisconsin voters to defeat the amendment this fall.
The amendment passed in two consecutive sessions of the state Legislature and will be on ballots for the Nov. 7 election.
