STATE MOVES FORWARD WITH ATV PARK
Thursday, June 29th, 2006 -- 8:07 AM
The state's Natural Resources Board is moving ahead with plans for a motor sports park.It would be a first motor park funding by state dollars, but is similar to public projects in other states.
Yet to be decided is where the park would be located, when it would be built and where the public funding would come from.
The Department of Natural Resources would be looking for two-thousand to 75-hundred acres for the park, preferably in southern or central Wisconsin.
While the use of A-T-Vs grows, it brings with it damage to existing trails and trespassing problems. A D-N-R survey finds nearly 960-thousand Wisconsin residents ride all-terrain vehicles.
