Former Jackson County Jailer Sentenced for Having Sex with an Inmate

A Jackson County Jailer accused of having a sexual relationship with an inmate was sentenced in Jackson County Court on Tuesday.

According to court records, Bret Noltner is accused of taking a woman into a cleaning closet out of the view of a camera. The inmate said she wasn’t forced to have sex, but she felt like she was being taken advantage of. Noltner initially denied he had sex with her and stated the inamte initiated the relationship.

Noltner was found guilty of, due to a no contest plea, 3rd degree sexual assault and misconduct in office. Two other charges were dismissed and read in. He was sentenced to one year in jail and five years of probation. He must also register as a sex offedner.
