Friends of the Black River Looking for Volunteers for River Clean Up August 27th
Monday, August 22nd, 2022 -- 8:01 AM
The Clark County Chapter of the Friends of the Black River is partnering with the Jackson County Friends of the Black River for a river clean up.
The Jackson County Friends of the Black River is looking for volunteers to help with the group’s annual river cleanup. The cleanup will be held Saturday, Aug. 27. Volunteers are asked to meet at Al Young Park in Black River Falls at 8 a.m. to be assigned a section of the river.
Al Young Park is located at the south end of South First Street. Volunteers can clean up by paddling the river or by patrolling the shoreline. Those wanting to paddle are asked to contact FBR President Steve Rake so enough canoes will be available.
In appreciation, volunteers will be provided a lunch at noon at Al Young Park. Those planning to help with the effort are asked to let Steve know so a count for lunch can be made. To RSVP or for more information, contact Rake by calling (715) 284-2087 or emailing [email protected].
