Black River Falls Elementary School Vandalized
Thursday, August 18th, 2022 -- 3:00 PM
A Black River Falls Elementary School was vandalized last week.
This will delay the start to the school year in that building. Forrest Street Elementary is undergoing a remodeling project. The renovations to the building were expected to be completed by the September 1st start date, but it will now miss that mark because of the damage.
The damage included fire extinguishers being set off in the building. The chemicals released corroded metal and technology in the building. Until the building is professional clean, construction work can’t continue. The clean up is expected to take three to four weeks.
Forrest Elementary students will start school at the usual time, but it may be at a temporary location or in portable classrooms until the clean up and remodeling is done. The District hopes to be back in the building by October.
