City of Neillsville Flushing Water Mains Next Week

The City of Neillsville will be conducting the annual flushing program to clear out minerals that have accumulated in the city’s water mains.

The flushing is accomplished by opening fire hydrants. This flushing is necessary to improve water quality and maintain the integrity of the distribution system, which is mandated by the Wisconsin DNR.

Flushing will be conducted from 7:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. It will begin on Monday, August 15 and run through Friday, August 19th. It will start again Monday, August, 22nd and run through Friday, August 26th.

If the water appears discolored, do not be alarmed.  After waiting, run your cold water for about 5 minutes to verify the water has cleared.  If water does not clear, or if you have any questions, please call the Water Department at 743-3991.
