Granton School Board Hears Report on School Trip

The Granton School Board began their meeting with a report on a school trip.
The Board heard a report from students and staff who attended the Spanish Club Trip to Belize. A presentation was provided by Advisor Cristopher Marquez & Chaperone Annette Woller and students Abby Woller, Emma Woller and Abby Schoessow.
The Board also heard an annual overview report from Granton Community Child Care Center Director Ladonna Nickel. New Child Care rates were considered and tabled for further consideration.
The Board heard a facility report on school projects being completed this summer and fall from Maintenance Supervisor Robby Roehl. Major projects include Roofing, HVAC and Kitchen upgrades.
Principal Amanda Kraus also presented on the Business Ed Course of Study options with no applicants for the open position. No action was taken by the board. The Board approved changes to the Food Service Permission Form for additional food purchases and adult breakfast and lunch prices.
The Board also approved the Agreement for Use of Space with Clark County Community Services and approved the 66.0301 Interagency Agreement for Shared/Mutual Technology Consortium with Abbottsford, Colby, Spencer and Granton for the 2022-23 School Year.
The Board also approved Alternative and Part Time Open Enrollment Applications, approved recommended updates to the 2022-23 Athletic Code/Handbook, and approved the administration’s recommendation of proposed changes to the COVID-19 Protocol. Granton will begin the school year in Phase Green.
Following an executive session, the Board approved a position for a Long-Term Teaching Substitute/Nurse and approved the administration’s recommendation of a School’s in Session bonus for support staff.
The Board also heard the Committee Reports. Theresa Hasz reported on the School/Granton Village Library Board meeting held August 1st and Dennis Kuehn reported on the CESA 10 Annual Meeting held on August 4th. Principal Amanda Kraus updated the board regarding the start of the 2022-23 School Year and the Granton Community Library celebrating 10 years.
Superintendent James Kuchta updated the board on information including the Bus Inspections Report, Complete Control pneumatic control upgrades, Researching the 100+ years of Granton Schools, Interest in continuing the same Baseball Co-op Agreement with Neillsville, and Granton FFA has 19 students participating in Clark County Fair this week.
