JACKSON COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT TO HONOR DEPUTIES

On Tuesday, June 27 the Jackson County Sheriff's Department will honor four Jackson County Sheriff's deputies with the Department's Medal of Valor in a brief ceremony starting at 3 pm. The Medals will presented to the recipients in regards to an incident that occurred in Clark County on November 29, 2005 in the Town of Dewhurst. In that incident, the Jackson County Sheriff's Office was called to assist the Clark County Sheriff's deputies with a man who was armed with a .357 handgun and shots had been fired. Members of the Jackson County Sheriff's office responded and worked to coordinate a tactical response in order to stop the armed gunman. While under fire, deputies brought the incident to resolution without the injury to innocent civiliansand fellow law enforcement officers.
