(Bob Hague, WRN) A man who struck and killed a Chippewa Falls Girl Scout leader, her daughter and two other Girl Scouts has lost his appeal.
Colten Treu is serving a 54 year prison term on his conviction in the November 2018 deaths. The four victims were picking up litter along a roadside when they were struck by Treu’s pickup truck. Investigators said he was huffing aerosol fumes moments before.
In a recent ten-page decision, the state Court of Appeals rejected Treu’s claims that he should have been allowed to withdraw his guilty and no contest pleas, and that his trial attorneys provided ineffective counsel.
