Accused Apple River Stabber Hires Rittenhouse Attorney

(Bob Hague, WRN) The Minnesota man charged in a fatal stabbing in western Wisconsin has hired an attorney who defended Kyle Rittenhouse.

Nicolae Miu is scheduled to be in court again this week. He's charged in the July 30 stabbing of five tubers on the Apple River. A 17 year-old high school student from Stillwater, Minnesota died of his injuries.

Miu told a judge he's hired one of the attorneys who successfully defended Rittenhouse in the August 2020 shootings in Kenosha, where two men died and one was severely injured.

That trial centered on jurors believing Rittenhouse acted in self-defense, and Miu has told investigators he was trying to defend himself that afternoon on the river.
