Wisconsin Cheese Factories Manufacture Less Product in June

(Wisconsin Ag Connection) Wisconsin cheese factories manufactured less product during the month of June when compared to the previous year.
According to the Wisconsin Ag Connection, that's according to the latest dairy product summary from the USDA, which stated the state produced 290.5 million pounds of cheese during the month.
That was a slight 0.5 percent less than last year, and 0.1 percent lower than this past May, which had more days on the calendar. Nationally, about 1.16 billion pounds of cheese was produced in the United States in June.
That was a 2.7 percent increase from 2021, but 2.3 percent less compared to the amount manufactured during the previous month. Dry Whey output in Wisconsin was recorded at 26.6 million pounds, which was up 11.6 percent from last year, and 8.5 percent higher compared to last month.
