Neillsville Girl Scouts Working on Their Silver Award Project

Two Neillsville girls scouts are working on their silver award project.

Larry Hoeser spoke with Karcyn Schmitz and McKendy Barth and they explained the silver award project in more detail.

Karcyn: "We're working on our silver award project, which is the second highest award that a girl scout can earn and the highest a cadet can earn. It's a lasting project that betters your community."

Larry: "What does that project entail?"

McKendy: "Our project is going to help build relationships between kids and their moms. Building relationships can be hard for kids that have had a rough start."

Larry: "So, what's the project?

Karcyn: "We are collecting new or gently used toys, games, or puzzles, so they have something to build a relationship with."

Larry: "So, what can people do to help?"

McKendy: "They can drop them off at Gross Motors in Neillsville or the House of Mercy in Loyal. The dates are August 8th-19th."

Larry: "What can they drop off again?"

Karcyn: "They can drop off toys, games, and puzzles."

Again, donations can be dropped off at Gross Motors in Neillsville or the House of Mercy in Loyal between August 8th and August 19th.
