(Mike Leischner, WSAU) A Wausau man died in a motorcycle crash in Western South Dakota.
The State Highway Patrol says 28-year-old George Seliger was traveling westbound on a highway outside Lead when he failed to negotiate a curve, crossed the center line, and was thrown from his 20-20 Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
Officers say he was pronounced dead at the scene, adding that he wasn't wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. The crash was reported early Sunday morning, July 31st, though the details were not released until Thursday.
The crash happened five days before the official opening of the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, which brings thousands of bikers from across the country and world to the Black Hills.
