Beloit Man Sentenced for High Speed Chase in Black River Falls

A Beloit man involved in a high speed chase in Black River Falls was sentenced in Jackson County Court.
According to the Black River Falls Police Department, on November 24th of last year, around 9:47pm, they observed two vehicles traveling at a high rate of speed on I-94 near Black River Falls. Officers attempted to stop the vehicles, but they fled.
The pursuit lasted about 20 miles, but was stopped near Osseo due to safety concerns. The following morning, the two individuals involved, Nicholas Roberts of Beloit and Samuel Wennblom of Minnesota, turned themselves into the authorities.
During Roberts court appearance on Tuesday, he was found guilty of, due to a no contest plea, resisting or failing to stop. He was sentenced to a total of $793 in fines and costs. Back in May, Wennblom was found guilty of resisting. He was sentenced to a fine of $250, plus $768 in costs.
