Tuesday, July 26th, 2022 -- 1:01 PM
(Casey Nelson, WRN) Health Officials say they’ve found two cases of Monkeypox in the Fox Valley.
Both are Appleton Residents and were detected last week, neither is believed to be related to one another. Appleton Health Officer Dr. Charles Sepers says the department is monitoring this situation closely with local, state, and federal partners, adding there is little risk for community transmission.
The disease is typically transmitted through intimate partner-to-partner contact. As of Monday, the Department of Health Services is reporting 12 cases of suspected monkeypox in Wisconsin.
