Fairchild Man Charged With Possession of Child Pornography

A Fairchild man has been charged with possession of child pornography.

According to authorities, they received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Dropbox was reporting the upload of “apparent child pornography” in July of 2021. The IP address connected to an internet service out of Eau Claire. After the execution of a search warrant, they determined there “numerous suspected items of child pornography.”

It was determined that 29-year-old Cody Benedict of Fairchild was the owner of the dropbox. He was arrested and admitted to authorities that the dropbox contained child pornography. He’s facing five charges of possession of child pornography. He’s scheduled to appear in court on August 23rd.
