Neillsville School Board Hears Building and Grounds Update

The Neillsville School Board heard an update on the building projects.
Lance Gregorich with CESA 10 and Building and Grounds Director Mark Spencer presented a building projects update. The Board also approved the Emergency Response Plan with revisions as presented; approved the proposed annual meeting agenda for the August 29th meeting; approved the 2021-2022 Seclusion and Restraint Report; and approved the annual safety drill report.
The Board also approved the Staff Handbook with modifications as presented; approved the Athletic Handbook for Coaches and Parents with said changes as presented; and approved transportation charges for 2022-2023.
In employment matters, the Board approved the resignation of Bri Anne Collins from her elementary guidance counselor position, Kathy Luchterhand from her assistant cross country coaching position, and Nate McDonald from his middle school track coaching position.
The Board approved the hiring of Lori Thur for a teaching assistant position. The Board also approved the revised teaching contract for Julia Backaus and the Memorandum of Understanding for Krista Rueth.
District Administrator John Gaier reported on:
- A thank you note from the bus drivers;
- Fencing color options;
- Neillsville social media report card;
- The timeline for health insurance bids;
- CWETN projected student course costs for 2022-2023;
- The National Rural Education Advocacy Coalition Conference;
- A legislative update;
- And an increase in the federal mileage reimbursement rate.
