Forecasted Winter Wheat Production for Wisconsin

(Wisconsin Ag Connection) Winter wheat production in Wisconsin is forecast at 19.8 million bushels.

According to the Wisconsin Ag Connection, that's according to the USDA's latest Crop Production Report, which stated that's eight percent below last year's harvest. The summary also noted that yields are projected to be around 76.0 bushels per acre, up one bushel from the previous season.

Growers intend to harvest 260,000 acres for grain, up six percent from 2021. Oat production is expected to be 3.97 million bushels, up five percent for the year. The expected yield is 61.0 bushels per acre, down one bushel.

The area expected to be harvested for grain totals 65,000 acres, up 4,000 acres for the season. The next crop production forecasts, based on conditions as of August 1, will be released on August 12.
