Neillsville Fire Department Responds to House Fire Due to Lightning Strike

The Neillsville Fire Department responded to a house fire Sunday evening.
According to Neillsville Fire Chief Matt Meyer, around 4:47pm, they received a call of a possible lightning strike to a home at W4462 Sand Road in the Township of Grant. The fire was contained to the attic, but the home did receive extensive water damage.
The Department was on scene for three hours, they had no injuries on their part, and they received mutual aid from the Granton Fire Department, with a full response, and the Neillsville Ambulance Service was on standby.
