Ag Safety Demonstrations at Farm Technology Days in Clark County
Monday, July 11th, 2022 -- 11:00 AM
(Wisconsin Ag Connection) The National Farm Medicine Center will host agricultural safety and rescue demonstrations and a child safety area during Wisconsin Farm Technology Days this week in Clark County.
According to the Wisconsin Ag Connection, the research group is partnering with Central Fire and EMS District, Pittsville Fire Department, Progressive Agriculture Safety Days, the Kentucky Department of Agriculture, local FFA chapters and others to put on the display.
The NFMC's Farm Safety and Rescue Area will feature live demonstrations of a tractor rollover, a tractor rollover rescue and a grain engulfment rescue. Marshfield Clinic Occupational Health will provide fit-testing of respirators, and Farm Medicine will also register Wisconsin farmers in a drawing for a free tractor rollover protection structure (ROPS) with installation included. The drawing will be held at the conclusion of the show.
The demonstrations will take place in the Youth Area with a 'Safe Play Area' for children, containing play items for young children to try out. Parents can learn how to build or upgrade play areas on their farms, and learn about assigning work to youth, based on the child's age and abilities.
Wisconsin Farm Technology Days will be held July 12-14 at Roehl Acres and Rustic Occasions near Loyal.
