Man Arrested After High Speed Chase in Clark and Chippewa Counties

The Lake Hallie Police Department and Chippewa Falls Police Department was involved in a pursuit that ran through Clark and Chippewa Counties.
Just before Noon on Monday, the Lake Hallie Police Department reported it was involved in a pursuit of a stolen vehicle from Clark County. The pursuit exited Highway 53 and started toward Chippewa Falls on W. River St.
The Chippewa Falls Police Department deployed Stop Sticks in an attempt to stop the pursuit and prevent the suspect from entering the city. The Stop Sticks were successful and the suspect vehicle stopped on Wagner St. and the driver fled from the vehicle.
As officers searched for the suspect, they received tips about a subject running through yards and alleyways matching the description of the driver. The suspect later stole a bicycle. He was located on foot a short time later and safely taken into custody.
The bicycle was located and returned to the owner. Due to the extreme heat, the suspect was provided medical attention before being taken to jail for numerous offenses. The subject’s name has not been released at this time.
