Marathon County Tourism Numbers

The Wisconsin Department of Tourism released its 2021 economic impact data, showing Wisconsin tourism generated $20.9 billion in total economic impact, with Marathon County contributing $403 million in total economic impact. 

In 2021, Marathon County tourism generated more than 3473 full and part-time jobs across diverse sectors of the industry, up three percent over 2020.  “We are excited with the uptick of economic impact from 2020 to 2021.  Our goal is to be among the top ten counties in direct visitor spending within three years,” states Executive Director, Tim White.

“Marathon County stakeholders, from municipalities to businesses and non-profit groups are working together to make this a reality.”
