A former Greenwood teacher’s aide and coach charged with sexual assault of a student appeared in court.
Back in November of last year, the Greenwood School District informed parents that a staff member had been put on paid administrative leave, but didn’t disclose why. The same staff member then resigned from the District in January of this year.
An investigation into the staff member, Dylan North, began in October when a female student at the District came forward and told officers that she had sexual contact with North on several occasions and sent messages on Snapchat.
Officers also learned North had also exchanged inappropriate messages with a student who was 14 or 15 at the time. He had also reached out to several other underage girls at the school.
North has been charged with two counts of sexual assault of a student by school staff, child enticement-sexual contact, and exposing a child to harmful material. During his arraignment on Wednesday, he entered a not guilty plea to the charges against him. He’s scheduled to be back in court on July 7th.
