Augusta Man Sentenced for Fleeing an Officer

An Augusta man arrested after fleeing an officer was sentenced in Eau Claire County Court.

According to the Augusta Police Department, in October of last year, they attempted to stop a vehicle driven by David Schick in the 500 block of Colfax Street for traffic violations.

Schick fled from officers and ignored multiple stop signs and speed limits. Eventually, his vehicle stopped in a driveway at 119 W. Grant Street. Schick initially ignored officers, but was eventually taken into custody.

Schick was found guilty of, due to a no contest plea, attempting to flee or elude an officer and possession of methamphetamine. Several other charges were dismissed and read in. He was sentenced to 3 years of probation.
