One Person Dead After Two Vehicle Crash in Wood County

One person is dead and several are injured after a two vehicle accident in Wood County.

According to the Wood County Sheriff’s Department, around 1:41pm on Sunday, June 5th, a passenger van was eastbound on County Highway Y in the Town of Auburndale and proceeded from a stop sign at County Highway M.

The passenger van was then struck by a flatbed wrecker traveling southbound on M. Multiple persons occupied the passenger van resulting in several injuries. One member of the passenger van was pronounced deceased at scene. The condition of the other occupants is unknown at this time. 

Agencies assisting with the crash included Auburndale Fire & Rescue, Marshfield Ambulance, Pittsville Ambulance, Stratford Ambulance, Life Link III Helicopter, Aspirus Helicopter, Wisconsin State Patrol and the Wood County Sheriff's Department and Wood County Highway Department. Wisconsin State Patrol will be conducting the accident investigation.

The names of the individuals involved have not been released at this time.
