Consider Foster an Animal From Your Local Shelter this Summer

(Raymond Neupert, WRN) This summer, consider helping your local shelter foster an animal.
Dane County Humane Society spokesperson Lisa Bernard says fostering can help an animal escape the stress of the shelter environment. "If they're recovering from an illness or an injury, they need a nice quiet place to do that."
Bernard says fostering animals can help some potential pets find the calm they need to open up. "For some other animals like big dogs, they can also get stressed out a little more in a shelter setting. So that's why we're asking for fosters, someone who can open their heart and their home."
Bernard says helping a potential pet by fostering can help that animal shine. "They really grow and thrive and you see a wonderful personality, just, they're showing their true selves. Because in the shelter setting, they're a little more hidden and guarded, and it's understandable."
