Wednesday, June 1st, 2022 -- 11:00 AM

(Mike Leischner, WSAU) A woman was sentenced yesterday for her role in a drive-by shooting incident that occurred nearly three years ago.

According to Mike Leischner of WSAU, Amanda Lewis will spend eight years in state prison and another five years on extended supervision after she was found guilty on two counts of recklessly endangering safety.

She was a passenger in a vehicle that was registered to her when another man shot out the window at two teenagers who were walking near downtown Wausau in July of 2019.

Lewis was given credit for almost three years already served in jail, and will also complete counseling and is to have no contact with the suspected gunman, Maurice Bell, or the victims.

The incident is said to have stemmed from a baseball-bat attack just days earlier that left another teen with severe injuries.
