Due to Texas Shooting, Tomah Police Department to Have Increased Presence at Tomah School District

After another horrific school shooting at an elementary school in Texas, it has other school district rethinking their security in the final days of the school year.

The Tomah Police Department has informed the Tomah Community that they will see law enforcement personnel at the various Tomah schools through the end of the school year. The Department wants the community to know so there is no alarm when seeing a police vehicle or an officer at a school.

They will try to cover as many schools as possible at the beginning and ending of the school day. They will also be conducting random, unannounced patrols of our schools throughout the school day.

They remind the community that if you see something, say something. Each individual is an extra set of eyes on the community. They need everyone to be actively engaged and take a proactive role in helping them create a community safety net.

They encourage parents to tell their children to report threats made by other students or adults.
