Man Involved in Standoff in Marshfield Walmart Parking Lot Appears in Court

The man involved in a standoff in the Walmart parking lot in Marshfield appeared in Wood County Court on Wednesday.
Theodore Trahern is facing ten counts of possession of child pornography as well as a charge of resisiting arrest from the standoff. According to the Marshfield Police Department, they received information from a member of the United Kingdom National Crime Agency at the end of January regarding of conversations from an online profile liked to Trahern that talked about sexual acts against a child done by the user.
Marshfield Police contacted Trahern and searched his truck. They found an iPad and phone allegedly containing 37 pictures and two videos of child pornograpy.
Recently, police approached Trahern with the evidence and he refused to exit his truck. He said his life was over and had nothing left to live for. He then showed a knife to officers. Officers called for backup and established a perimeter.
Eventually, Trahern surrendered peacefully. During his court appearance, he waived his preliminary hearing and entered a not guilty plea to the charges against him. He’s scheduled to be back in court on July 13th.
