Neighboring Fairs Receive Grants to Support Fairground Enhancement Projects

(Wisconsin Ag Connection) The Compeer Financial Fund for Rural America has awarded another 64 grants to support fairground enhancement projects in Wisconsin, Illinois and Minnesota.

According to the Wisconsin Ag Connection, the grants, which total $244,500, were made to local and county fairs through the fund's Fair Facility Upgrade Grant Program.

"Our aim with these grants is to positively impact the future of our rural communities," said Karen Schieler, senior corporate giving specialist. "Fairs are the highlight of summer for many of these communities and we hope this will help provide the best possible experience for exhibitors and visitors as they enjoy this important tradition."

Some neighboring Fairs and projects in Wisconsin receiving support from the program include Eau Claire County Friends of the Fair for improvements and signage in the milk house.

The Jackson County Ag Society for purchasing a new stage. The Trempealeau County Agricultural Society, Inc. for upgrading the electrical service in the Farm Progress Arena.
