The eighth grade class of Immanuel Lutheran School in Wisconsin Rapids recently delivered 47 hand-tied blankets to help comfort patients receiving care at Aspirus Cancer Care-Wisconsin Rapids.
The blankets will be given to radiation therapy patients following their last therapy treatment. The students also created inspirational painted rocks for the cancer center’s waiting room rock garden and care bags for patients undergoing chemotherapy.
The class raised funds to purchase the supplies needed to create the blankets, painted rocks, and care bags as part of its Very Important Project. Aspirus Cancer Care-Wisconsin Rapids offers complete, leading-edge cancer care in a beautiful, comforting setting.
The center provides oncology exams, diagnostic lab work and imaging scans, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, surgery, clinical trial participation, and more. To learn more, call 715-421-7442 or visit aspirus.org/cancer-care-blood-disorders.
