BODY IDENTIFIED IN RUDY CASE
Thursday, May 4th, 2006 -- 10:17 AM
It was a foregone conclusion, but authorities in Clark and Chippewa Counties now have some solid proof a body found in the Chippewa River in March is that of Christine Rudy.A forensic dentist compared the Thorp woman?s dental records with partial dental remains found as part of the investigation into her alleged murder. He concluded the remains are those Christine Rudy.
We?ve previously reported the torso found in March also contained tattoos matching those of Ms. Rudy, who prosecutors say was shot and killed in Clark County by her husband, Shaun, on November 12th.
DNA analysis is still pending on the body.
Chippewa County District Attorney Jon Theisen told Central Wisconsin Broadcasting News he expected the Chippewa County Sheriff?s Department would refer charges of ?corpse abuse? once the body was positively identified. Those charges would likely be filed against Shaun Rudy and his alleged girlfriend, Heather Teschler.
