Wisconsin Senator Says the State's 1849 Law Prohibiting All Abortions "Will Not Stand for Long"

(Bob Hague, WRN) Wisconsin’s Republican U.S. Senator says he doesn’t think the state’s 150 year-old law prohibiting abortions will remain intact, if Roe versus Wade is overturned.
The U.S. Supreme Court’s conservative majority is poised to overturn Roe, an action that would give state legislatures control over regulating women’s reproductive choices. Senator Ron Johnson said Friday that he’s comfortable with that, but told reporters he didn’t think Wisconsin’s 1849 law ”will stand for long.”
The law, which prohibits abortion in all cases, would be enforceable once Roe is overturned. Johnson said he thinks "the democratic process in Wisconsin will have something other than the 1849 law."
