Marshfield Man Sentenced for Throwing Homemade Explosive Device at Ex-Girlfriend's Home

A Marshfield man arrested after throwing a homemade explosive device at his girlfriend’s home was sentenced in Marathon County Court.
Back in 2019, Corey Machtan was arrested after throwing a homemade bomb at his ex-girlfriend’s home, firing a gun into the air at the end of her driveway, sending threatening texts and entering her home, pushing her to the ground and punching her.
Machtan was found guilty of, due to a no contest plea, possession of narcotic drugs, possession of explosives for unlawful purposes, strangulation and suffocation, and possession with intent-amphetamine.
Several other charges were dismissed and read in. Machtan was sentenced to a total of 1.5 years in prison and 3.5 years of extended supervision.
