Marshfield's Caught Being Safe Program
Friday, May 6th, 2022 -- 12:01 PM
Marshfield Medical Center, in partnership with the Marshfield Police Department and the Marshfield Fire and Rescue Department, would like to work toward a safer spring and summer for young bicyclists.
One of the ways they’re trying to accomplish this is through the Caught Being Safe program. This program involves officers rewarding children for making safe decisions and displaying safe behaviors in the community, such as wearing a bicycle helmet.
Beginning May 16th, officers will be handing out coupons for various treats to young bicyclists they see displaying such behaviors. For those who do not have and cannot afford a bike helmet, the officers will have helmets in their vehicles that may be freely given to youth in need.
This program is possible because of generous donations from local businesses. They would like to thank the following Marshfield businesses for supporting the Caught Being Safe program: Arby’s, Chip’s, Culver’s, Dairy Queen, Hub City Ice Cream, and McDonald’s.
