(Bob Hague, WRN) Wisconsin’s attorney general won’t provide resources to prosecute abortion cases, if Roe versus Wade is overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court.
Democrat Josh Kaul, who is seeking reelection, told the Wisconsin State Journal on Tuesday that the Department of Justice will not use its resources to investigate or prosecute alleged violations of Wisconsin’s 170 year-old law prohibiting abortion, which has been unenforceable under Roe.
Most prosecutions would brought by county district attorneys. Kaul said he doesn’t think the abortion law should be enforced by any DA or law enforcement agency. Republican AG candidates Eric Toney and Adam Jarchow are both pro-life.
