Marshfield Man Arrested After Standoff on Peach Avenue

Thursday, April 28th, 2022 -- 2:00 PM

On Wednesday April 27th, at approximately 3:11PM, the Marshfield Police Department responded to 1407 N. Peach Ave for a report a domestic disturbance.

Officers learned that earlier in the day another incident occurred outside the Marshfield city limits with the same individuals. Officers attempted contacted with a 35-year-old Marshfield man who resisted officers' attempts to take him into custody and attempted to strike an officer.

The 35-year-old man retreated into his residence in the 1200 block N. Peach Ave and barricaded himself. The Marshfield Special Response Team responded and the man was eventually taken into custody on 4/28/2022 at approximately 12:11AM.

The man was ultimately transported to the Wood County Jail. Charges are being requested through the Wood County District Attorney's Office for battery and disorderly conduct (domestic related), strangulation, battery to law enforcement and resisting arrest. 

They would like to thank the Wood County Sherriff's Department, the Marshfield Fire Department, and the Marshfield Street Department for their assistance in aiding in this peaceful resolution. They would also like to thank Kwik Trip for supporting the department during this incident.
