Wisconsin National Guard Wraps Up Deployment to Wisconsin Nursing Homes

(Terry Bell, WRN) The National Guard’s deployment to Wisconsin nursing homes ends this week.

Nearly 300 citizen soldiers have been working as certified nursing assistants at long-term care facilities around the state for the past three months. Those centers were facing a worker shortage crisis.

Residents say they’re sad to see guard members go, and the soldiers tell WLUK-TV in Green Bay it was an enjoyable deployment. About 40 National Guard members have already gone home, and the rest are leaving throughout this week.
