Former Wisconsin First Lady Passes Away
Thursday, April 28th, 2022 -- 8:16 AM
(Terry Bell, WRN) Former Wisconsin first lady Elaine Schreiber is dead at the age of 82.
Schreiber’s husband, Martin Schreiber was Wisconsin governor in the late 1970s. She’d lived with Alzheimer’s disease for the past 18 years. Martin Schreiber chronicled the effects of the disease in a book called “My Two Elaines.”
State officials say Elaine Schreiber died peacefully Monday morning in Wauwatosa. I had an opportunity to speak with former Governor Schreiber back in 2018 when he was going to be speaking in Granton. You can find that story here.
