Wisconsin's March Egg Production

(Wisconsin Ag Connection) -Wisconsin egg production during March was 151 million eggs, down eight percent from last month and off 21 percent from last year.
That's according to the USDA's latest Chickens and Eggs report. The average number of all layers on hand during was 6.02 million, down 15 percent from February and 21 percent lower from March 2021. Eggs per 100 layers were 2,509, up nine percent for the month, but down slightly for the year.
Nationally, egg production totaled 9.39 billion during March. That was one percent lower for the year. The average number of layers totaled 381 million, down three percent from 2021. Total layers in the United States was 373 million, down five percent from the same time a year earlier.
