Neillsville Fire Department Responds to Grass Fire

The Neillsville Fire Department responded to a grass fire on Thursday.

According to Neillsville Fire Chief Matt Meyer, around 3:01pm, they received a report of a grass fire heading towards the woods at N3332 Highway 73 in the Township of Pine Valley. The owner was burning a brush pile and it got away from him. It burned less than one acre.

The Department was on scene for 40 minutes and there were no injuries on their part. The Neillsville Ambulance Service was on standby, but quickly released.
