Loaded Handgun Discovered at TSA Check at Central Wisconsin Airport
Friday, April 22nd, 2022 -- 2:00 PM
(Mike Leischner) A loaded handgun was brought to the TSA Checkpoint at Central Wisconsin Airport.
Transportation Security Agents say the unidentified passenger had the loaded gun in their carry-on luggage. Screeners found the gun as the bag was going through their machines, and immediately notified the Mosinee Police Department. That passenger now faces thousands of dollars in fines for having the gun in their luggage.
TSA says it's a reminder that there are procedures to follow when it comes to bringing a firearm with you on your flight, including locking the gun in your checked baggage, declaring it at the ticket counter, and keeping it separate from any ammo that you may be bringing with you as well.
