City of Marshfield May Host Afghan Refugees

The City of Marshfield may host refugees from Afghanistan.

A leader of Wausau’s resettlement committee spoke at UWSP-Marshfield’s campus on Tuesday. He highlighted recent resettlement efforts in the state and what could happen in the future.

There’s no guarantee that Marshfield will receive any families. It depends on how many the federal government allows in the state. The first wave of Afghan resettlement saw 70,000 refugees enter the country, which ended in February.
