Marathon County Board Commission Disbanded

(Raymond Neupert, WRN) The Marathon County Board commission that drew up a controversial Community For All resolution has been disbanded.

The county board decided on Tuesday not to re-form the nine-member Diversity Affairs Commission for this year. That commission drafted the non-binding diversity resolution last year, which led to a contentious public debate in Wausau and Marathon County.

Critics claimed the resolution was pushing left-wing policies. The tone of the debate led to New York Times coverage, which brought to light racist statements made by opponents.
