Marshfield Police Department and Marathon County Bomb Squad Returns to Apartment Complex Saturday

-The Marshfield Police Department and the Marathon County Bomb Squad returned to an apartment complex Saturday afternoon.

According to the Marshfield Police Department, they returned to the apartment complex after the manager reported finding more suspected explosive devices.  This occurred after police were called to the apartment complex on Thursday after explosive devices were found in a 70-year-old man’s apartment.  The devices found on Saturday appear similar to the devices found on Thursday and they appear to be linked to the incident on Thursday.

People were evacuated from the complex on Thursday and Saturday.  The man police believe is responsible for the devices is not in custody, but Marshfield Police declined to say why.  Right now there is no evidence that the man intended to use the devices, and police said in both incidents there are no known safety concerns for the community.  Authorities say that all areas of the apartment complex the man had access to are now secure.
