Security Health Plan of Wisconsin, Inc. Names New Director Of Marketing Communications

Saturday, April 9th, 2022 -- 7:26 AM

Security Health Plan of Wisconsin, Inc., has named Rebecca Normington, of Edgar, director of marketing communications.

Normington will develop marketing and communication strategies for Security Health Plan in alignment with those of Marshfield Clinic Health System. She will engage with leaders across the Health Plan and Health System to identify and gain visibility for the value Security brings to its members, and lead executive communications and brand management for the Health Plan. Normington most recently served as the Health Plan’s marketing and communications manager for 17 years. In that role she oversaw Security’s marketing efforts, led and implemented serveral interdepartmental continuous improvement projects and led Security’s communication response to the COVID-19 pandemic. She joined the Marshfield Clinic Health System organization in 1994 as a marketing communication specialist in Marshfield Clinic’s Corporate Communications Department. Normington acknowledged health insurance is a significant purchase for individuals, families and employers.

Security Health Plan Chief Growth Officer Jenny Shermo said Normington has been integral in ensuring Security Health Plan’s audiences are connecting with the Health Plan’s various messages through a variety of channels: advertising, website, newsletters and educational materials. A native of Spring Arbor, Michigan, Normington is an alumnus of Northern Michigan University, where she earned a bachelor of science degree in English. She has over 20 years of leadership experience working in the fields of marketing, communications and brand management within the Marshfield Clinic Health System. She said she looks forward to her new role, which will allow her to gain a deeper understanding of all Security Health Plan functions and the ways the Health Plan works to improve access to care, improve the quality of care and reduce cost for its members.
