Man Arrested for Possession of Child Pornography After Standoff in Marshfield

Friday, April 8th, 2022 -- 1:00 PM

On Wednesday, April 07th, at approximately 10:57 am, a Marshfield Police Department Detective and Police Officer contacted a 28-year-old Marshfield man while he was sitting in his semi-truck regarding an on-going investigation.

When the man was asked to exit his truck, he refused and displayed a knife in his right hand. Mutual aid was requested from nearby agencies which included Marathon and Wood County Sheriff’s Departments, Spencer Police Department and the State Patrol. A perimeter was established and negotiations were initiated with the man.

At 12:09 pm, the man exited his truck and he was arrested without incident. He was transported to Marathon County Jail for charges of 10 counts of possession of child pornography and 1 count of Failure to Comply w/ officers attempt to take into custody.
