Merrillan Man Sentenced for Possession in Jackson County Court

A Merrillan man was sentenced for possession in Jackson County Court.

According to the Augusta Police Department, just after 9pm on October 16th, officers stopped a vehicle and noticed that the three people in the vehicle were behaving suspiciously.

They also noticed evidence of drug use. After a search, police found drugs and drug paraphernalia. Kyle Iverson and Jamie Smothers, both of Black River Falls, and Jason Brown of Merrillan were arrested.

Brown pleaded guilty to possession of narcotic drugs. He reached a deferred prosecution agreement that will last for 2 years, with conditions.
